Description

The PEN-100 training from OffSec (formerly Offensive Security, the organization behind OSCP, for example) provides a very good foundation for anyone who wants to enter the field of penetration testing with relatively little prior knowledge. To perform a good pentest, knowledge in many different disciplines is required. Think of skills in areas such as Windows, Linux, computer networks, databases, web applications, scripting, etc. After completing the PEN-100 training, you will be able to test servers, clients, and web applications at a basic level using Kali (the Linux distribution for pentesters) and look for vulnerable data such as valuable encrypted data, hidden login credentials, and other information that may also be of interest to hackers.

Because this training is fully focused on pentesting, you will receive targeted information and techniques for each topic. The associated labs are almost all "capture the flag" assignments where you must try to gain the correct permissions in an environment and find the flag that serves as the answer to successfully complete that lab.

The PEN-100 training includes one year of access to OffSec's online Learn Fundamentals platform. In addition to this training, you will find extra content and fundamental learning paths in areas such as SOC, Cloud, Web application hacking, Exploit Development, OWASP, etc.

Certification

At the end of the training and after successfully completing the associated online self-study material and the lab environment, the PEN-100 training can be concluded with the corresponding 6-hour assessment from OffSec. This is a practical exam through which the OffSec PEN-100 badge can be obtained.

Training Requirements

  • Nieuwkomers in cybersecurity
  • IT-professionals
  • (Aspirant) Junior Penetratietesters
