Do you want to better understand how hackers operate but find the 5-day Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) training (still) a step too far? This 2-day Ethical Hacking Essentials training provides a good overview of the biggest threats to an organization and its underlying IT systems in terms of cybersecurity. Ethical Hacking Essentials is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about the security of (customer)data, applications, databases, and the IT network - experience in IT or security is not necessarily required.

During the training, you will become familiar with commonly used hacking techniques such as password cracking, malware, social engineering, sniffing, web app attacks, wifi hacking, SQL injection, and you will learn the basic skills to test information systems against these.

The training offers a good balance between theory and practice. Without an IT background, you may not be able to participate in all labs, but we will help you make the connection to the possible impact on your own organization. The Ethical Hacking Foundation / Essentials training concludes with a Capture The Flag exercise where you can immediately apply what you've learned at your own level.

Working method

We conclude the training with a unique Capture the Flag (CTF) where you can put everything you've learned into practice: In the CTF session, we will search for the secret recipe for making first-class olive oil from the company “Genco Pura Olive Oil Company” or GPOOC. With the help of vulnerability assessments, port scans, and exploitation, we will breach the secret recipes server of our target while considering various security measures that GPOOC has put in place for us. The secret recipe is within reach, but will we be able to obtain it in an almost undetectable manner? During this instructor-led CTF, you will experience what it is like to be on the other side of the defense line and what could potentially be improved in the security of your own data or organization.

Certification

With the knowledge and skills you acquire in this training, it is possible to pass the optional Ethical Hacking Fundamentals (S-EHF) exam from the SECO Institute. The course material closely aligns with the corresponding exam requirements. After successfully completing the exam, you will receive the “Ethical Hacking Foundation” certificate from SECO and can request a digital S-EHF badge. Note: The S-EHF and SECO marks are the property of SECO Institute, TSTC is not affiliated with nor endorsed by SECO.
