Description

The CompTIA Security+ training and certification are suitable for laying a solid foundation when you start working in IT-Cybersecurity. You gain broad knowledge of the field that is useful in any IT and cybersecurity role. Security+ teaches you the best practices to solve hands-on security-related problems by providing you with the necessary practical skills. After the training, you will not only be able to recognize security incidents but also know how to handle them and reduce the likelihood of them occurring in advance.

In the Security+ training, you will learn to recognize various threats and attack techniques and gain insight into penetration testing and ways to scan for vulnerabilities. You will install, configure, and implement network components to assess and resolve security-related issues. You will also gain knowledge about the implementation of secure network architecture concepts and system designs.

Security+ covers the installation and configuration of identity and access services and their management functions. Finally, you will learn to install and configure the security settings of wireless networks and the implementation of PKI. In short, Security+ is a comprehensive IT security training that helps elevate the security of your organization to a higher level. In addition to the necessary theory, the Security+ course is also supported by an extensive lab environment where you can apply your knowledge hands-on.

This training is classroom-based but can also be attended Live Online if desired. You will then follow the training live remotely with our own instructor, view the notes on the whiteboard, participate in all labs, and can ask questions to both the trainer and your fellow students. Essentially, it is just like being present in the classroom training, but from your own location. If the Live Online training does not meet your expectations, you may attend the classroom training again free of charge within a year.

Working method

A standard Security+ training consists of a huge amount of PowerPoint slides, which leaves little opportunity for practical labs. Enough to pass the exam, but certainly not to apply it in practice. We deviate from this by incorporating a short, guided self-study period in our exclusive MyTSTC learning platform prior to the classroom training. Here, you receive tailored material that prepares you for the intensive training. Even after the training, you will continue to receive online guidance towards the exam through our platform.

Due to the prior study, the differences in levels are reduced during the classroom days, allowing us to structure the Security+ training differently (and more attractively) with relevant labs where you also get to work practically in depth.

Our CompTIA Security+ training is classroom-based but can also be attended Live Online if desired. You then follow the training live from a distance with our own instructor, view the notes on the whiteboard, participate in all labs, and can ask questions to both the trainer and your fellow students. Essentially, it’s just like being present at the classroom training, but from your own location. If the Live Online Security+ course does not meet your expectations, you may attend the classroom version again free of charge within a year.

Certification

This training prepares you for the CompTIA Security+ exam (SY0-701) with practical performance-based questions that allow you to earn the corresponding certification. You can optionally purchase this exam with the training and take it at a time of your choice after the training with us.

Frequently Asked Questions

CompTIA Security+ is an internationally recognized, vendor-neutral certification designed for professionals at the beginning of their careers in cybersecurity. The certification provides a solid foundation in information security and covers key topics such as network security and risk management. Due to its broad and practical approach, Security+ is globally regarded as a valuable first step for anyone looking to develop in the security field. Additionally, it serves as a good stepping stone to more advanced or specialized security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, and CompTIA SecurityX.

Yes, CompTIA Security+ is globally recognized by IT managers and recruiters. The certification has a strong reputation within the IT and cybersecurity sector and is seen as a valuable foundation for professionals looking to build a career in networking and information security in many organizations. Because Security+ is vendor-neutral and focuses on fundamental security knowledge, the certification is relevant across various sectors and countries. This makes it an attractive qualification for professionals who want to work internationally or start their careers in IT and security roles.

Like most security certifications, the Security+ certification does not remain valid indefinitely without action on your part. After you pass, you remain certified for three years. After that, you need to show CompTIA that your knowledge of the field is still current. You can do this by taking other (advanced) training courses, attending relevant conferences or webinars, or ordering the special online CertMaster CE Security+ training (for example, through TSTC) with which you can earn verifiable CEU points to extend your certification.

If you have the right IT network knowledge, yes. You may have gained this during your prior education or in practice, but also by, for example, taking the CompTIA Network+ training. If you have any doubts about this, please contact us so we can assess your experience together.
